Joy embroidered letters are just the thing for creating. They come in a variety of colors and shapes; and they adhere to a lot of unconventional surfaces - like painted wood! This clock was quick and easy to make in under an hour.
Paint a Walnut Hollow round wood clock base white. Apply a second coat, if necessary.
Place Joy 1" block letters to spell "WHATEVER" along the 9 o'clock line of the clock. Iron on according to package directions. I use a craft iron that does not have any steam holes in the bottom. I find this gives a quicker and more durable bond.
Place a set of Joy numbers 1-12 in a random, jumbled pattern at the bottom, as if they have fallen off the face of the clock. Iron on according to package directions.
Adhere a decorative red ribbon around the edge of the clock base.
Paint the hands of the clock movement red. Let dry and apply a second coat. Coat with a spray sealer. Assemble the clock movement according to package directions. Insert battery, set time and hang.
